I just ordered a set of 225-45-15 Kuhmos V700s (shaved) to try and fit on the ITR I will be mounting them on a set of Kosei K-1s, 15 x 7. Has anyone tried this size on the ITR? If so results?

What offset Kosei's do you have?
I run 225/50-15's for Autocross on Millenia rims (50mm offset). This setup requires 5mm spacers to prevent rubbing on the trailing arm and inner fender.
If you have 45mm offset, you should be fine. The tires stand a little proud of the fender, but it looks nice. I think that 225's on a 38mm offset would be too wide, but I haven't talked to anyone with this setup.
I hope this helps.

I have the same EXACT setup but since the Northeast has had such cold temps and snow, I haven't mounted them on the car yet. I do have 5mm H&R spacers in the rear. I used to have the tires on a stock ITR wheel and had no rubbing problems when I used the 5mm spacer in the rear. I am thinking the wider 7" wheel should be no problems.
i remember the PAX autox champ in seattle ran 225-45 heatcycles shaved victoracers on his stock itr wheels. he had no drop, all stock, and he said they worked just fine, not sure if he was using spacer's tho...but yea i've seen it done, and great choice for tires matt

I've enjoyed success with 225s on my ITR.
its 15x7 rim, if they made s-03's in 195/55, i'd mount them next on 15x7 rims, currently went from 15x6.5 to 15x7 and theres a difference in steering feedback as more stability at higher speeds - wider --> better --> yes but fitting correct tire per rim yelds better results in my opinion.

Do you do lapping sessions?
This is for an increase in lateral grip, not straight line, in case there is any confusion.
no, for staight line you'd probably want softer sidewal where 225/45 might help, matching with wider rims helps decrease the wobble feel (exception would be race tire where sidewall is stiff enough).
i mounted 225/50/15 and 225/45/15 on a 15x6.5 rim.....worked fine....with a 5 mm spacer on front....none on rear....this was on my civic....and to you who say 205 is fine.....
WIDER IS BETTER....cept when it comes to my women....or lack there of

When dealing with 225/45/15 or 225/50/15, it is ALWAYS a race tire with a stiff sidewall.
That is the only reason why your argument does not make sense to those of us who successfully use 225 width 15" race tires.
ran a set of shaved 225/45/15 Kumho V700 on a 15x7 43+ offset wheel last season and experienced no rubbing.Great tire, as I've been pretty happy with my experience.

Thanks for all of the replies.
FYI I ran 205/50 Hoosiers last year and had no problems (except a lighter wallet) with fitment, According to the guys that have used, both the 205 Hoosiers are about the same width as the 225 Kuhmos?

225/45/15 would have been fine.

Except yours were 225/50/15 , and you ended up having to roll the fenders...

Does the RA-1 come in 225/50 or 225/45 ????
There was a petition in the comp forum to get Toyo to consider making the 225/45 a while back.
At CMP I ran the 50 series, not anywhere else.

Does anyone have pictures of 225's on a 38mm offset wheel? I'm interested in knowing where the outside of the tires are relative to the fenders.
Thanks.
