I have a 1.8t GTI and i no this is a dumb question because it could be a million differant answers but my friend wants to no. He has a 02 GRS Jackson Racing 8psi, BTC,Map controller, Boost upgrade, Comptech I/H/E, Fluidyne Radiator, ITR LSD. What is an idea of what he would run in the 1/4 mile. I run mid 13's and i can beat him pretty easily. Sorry to get of of the Drag racing topic but what would you reccomend else he could get example Hondata ect... thanks

Are you sure he has a 02, they didnt make Gsr's in 02.
Anyway doesnt matter.... most sc'ed gsr's will run mid to high 14's with stock boost. ive seen sc'ed gsr's run mid to high 13's though, tuned with all the extra bolt on stuff. the best way for your freind to increase his power would be to just hit the dyno and see where he is at. he might be able to pick up power there. before spending anymore money.

 

My friend has a GSR with 130,000+ miles on it and a 6psi Jackson blower. His other mods are a short Injen intake, GReddy header, and Skunk2/RSR exhaust.

He ran 13.7 @ 104 mph on 15 inch all season tires, open diff, full interior, power steering hooked up....etc. He had run 14.1s before that and this day he just figured out how to launch it. 13.7-13.9 all day on only 6psi.

Once your friend figures out how to drive it he should be pretty strong. It is pretty hard to launch on the street but once he hits 3rd and 4th gear he should be very quick.

From a 3rd gear 50mph roll, we raced a C5 Vette and the Vette took about a 1 car lead in 3rd and then the GSR pulled him in 4th. He hasn't lost to a Mustang, SS, or WS6 yet.

for reference, my friend ran 14.7-14.9 @ 95 consistent without the blower.

I would suggest getting it on the dyno also but the best mod he can do right now is to figure out how to get his 60 foot times down to a high 2.1.
