there is no carbon fiber around anything else other then the gauge cluster........in the north american R's anyways

I personally don't think the fake cf looks bad on my R

All "carbon fiber" on a Type R is just stickers. Gauge surround, driver's vent, center vents, radio/HVAC bezel, shifter surround (00-01 US cars).

The "CF" pattern is actually part of the plastic itself, not a sticker. Either way, it isn't real.

In my opinion, real carbon fiber should be saved for hoods...it doesnt look good inside a car. I think our fake cf looks better than real cf would.

Really? Hrm. Always looked like a thin applique over the plastic to me. Perhaps I was thinking of the "Integra" sticker in front of the shifter and confusing myself.

I wondered why that was there for a quite a while, until I realized that's exactly where the bottom of a cup sits when it's in the cup holder. Thinking about that now, there is the possibility that the pattern is somehow "painted" on, and the Integra sticker is there to protect the finish (since no such sticker is on the 97/98 models), but it still appears to be part of the plastic itself to me, especially when looking at the edges where the pattern "stretches" around the curves.

My guess is that it is silkscreened or flexo-printed on the plastic.

You make it sound like you know what you're talking about?

Also, what fake CF around the vents and shifter?
