Default should I wait?

Whats up everybody, I am in a little dilema, My dad works at Acura (finance manager) and they have a 2001 R comming off lease as of July, Its on reserve for me, but I gotta wait till july for the damn car, its nice tho Its black and not moded at all, a 65year old guy owns it and he never goes over 4 grand so if anythign the car has been vteced maybe once at that.

Or should I just scrape what money I have and try to get a gsr right now? I get my license in 2weeks.

Ive waited so long for a car. I wanna VTEC and refuse to buy a car that doesnt have it, so What should I do wait it out? while everybody else has fun w/ there cars in the spring time but me ?

I say: be patient and wait for the R.
Besides, don't you have a TL to drive in the mean time?

goddamn! ur dad is finance manager at acura? haha.. then get the type R... you can't possibly ask for a better deal than that... ur dad then is responsible pretty much for how much u get it for... and the financing so he/you won't get ripped a new one.. and ****.. everyones ideal used car purchase is from a senior citizen that only went to 4k rpm on his way to buy groceries and some Depends undergarments.. hahaha... wait!!!! patience is a virtue... and in this case one that will land u a cherry type r!!!

You haven't had anything to drive for the past 18 years. Just wait.

If I were you, I would get the GSR. The ITR is too nice for a first car, and something will probably end up happening to it. Young people shouldn't have too nice of cars.

wait for the type R..its not like you have nothing/no means of transportation in the meantime even though it is work trucks... and I think in the end you'll be happy you waited...

It's not nicer persay. But I do cringe whenever I see an R whose only purpose is for daily transportation...and it's not tracked (no not the ho hum 1320). The main reason kids drive their first R into a curb isn't because it's oh so fast and powerful (it's not), it's because of the massive rear swaybar and excellent balance (for a fwd car).

Be careful with your R, at least learn to autoX it before you start plans add more power. It really boggles my mind at the number of folks with decently quick cars that probably can't keep up with my mild GSR at the autoX. And I'm a lousy autoXer.

I would just wait. When I got my GS-R, I had a choice of getting a used GS-R and getting it right then, or getting a new one and having to wait three months to have it. I would have to wait for the new one because my dad was going to trade in his car for it, so he would take it up to Santa Cruz and drive it for the first three months until he bought his TL Type S.( I went to high school in Lake Forest, but my parents lived in Santa Cruz, 400 mi away). So I still had to ride my bike to school for those three months, but I definately think it was worth the wait. Although your case is a little different, I still think you should wait for the Type-R.

Whatever, that's like saying you're never gonna get laid after you hit retirement.

That's a boring life if you ask me.

Buy the GSR. I don't think you will appreciate the ITR.
