Default Car starting problems....

Okay i have a 96 EK hatch with a 96 B18C1 (GSR) in my car and i have had this for about a year with no problems really that i couldn't fix. But as of late i was stupid enough to try an experiment with my new Civic Si guage cluster. I wanted to see the gas light go on so i drove my car and drove it till i got home. Next day i won't start so i get gas and it seems cool but then later it wouldn't start after schoola agian. so i realize that this might be the fuel pump because some people said so and i agreed. so i get a new wahlbro intank fuel pump installed yesterday and the car works right away i even wait like 5 hours tryed agian and it did. Even this morning it did but after school again i try for about 15 mins and the car wouldn't start then i just hold the ignition and the car finally starts. Now i want to know what could be the problem because i have to turn my car off to open my doors and i had to do that 2 times after the car started and now it works but i know after a couple of hours I will have another problem is it really the starter this time of what please someone help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

if it cranks, it's not your starter, if the car doesn't start, check your fuel pressure to see if it could be the pump.

so your saying if the car makes the sound or the cams start spinning then the igniton couldn't be the problem right. I just changed the fuel pump like i said in the story do you think my msd coil could be messed up cuz i think its pretty old.
