Loose steering/steering wheel play
With my car about to hit the 100k mark, does anyone have a solution for the bit of steering wheel play i have? I have noticed that ITR's have very quick steering, in part due to the steering ratio, but it also just felt "tighter". Is it my ball joints? Should i change bushings? Its not that bad, I just want her to be a little tighter...
check ur inner and outer tie rods, just jack the front wheels under ur lower control arms and move ur tire in a left to right motion, if theres play then replace ur tie rod. if not then id replace ur steering rack.
After you're done checking tie rod ends & ball joints...
Check the joints in the steering shaft, from the steering wheel down to the pinion shaft of the rack. You'd feel pretty foolish if you changed the rack & that wasn't it.

Not necesarily steering specific but you could also try replacing bushings with new stock rubber bushings or urethane. A loose feel in the front suspension/steering is often a number of worn parts.

Has anyone done this maintenance? Anyone else have this? i have a 1995 gsr 4dr...
But I've done it on my former '89 Saab.Doesn't matter if we've done it yet, all I wanted to say is you should find out WHAT'S loose before you just start throwing parts at it. There's gotta be a dozen different things that can get loose, and it doesn't have to be the same part as the other guy's car.
