You all know me here...so im posting this for my friend Matt (maskednegator). He posted a thread a while back but i thought i would give it a shot as i sold my old CRX in 15mins on honda-tech!

Matt is a good friend of mine he lives down the street and is totally trust worthy and somebody that is safe to buy from.

This is what matt has to say about the car..although the interior is in great condition and its really only the outside that is a little bit bashed up. For the money its a great car!

Heres the DL (downlow for all you that dont talk jive) from matt on the car:

engine runs strong, but the outside of the car has essentially gone to hell. every panel aside from the hatch, rear bumper and roof has a dent of sort or another. both front fenders and the front bumper are totally effed. the hood flew up into the windshield (wrecking both) and is currently held on with hoodpins. there's a hole in the driver's side of the floor about 1/8" thick and 3" long.
i used hasport mounts, linkage and wiring harness on this install. there are no check engine lights going off. engine was well-maintained, with oil changes every 3k miles. the header is banged to hell, but will plug into a stock crx exhuast, as i hacked off the header outlet from the d15 and welded it on to facilitate the swap. car has no muffler and a gutted cat.
the interior of the car is in pretty decent shape. the carpet and all pieces behind the seats are not currently installed. the climate control is cracked in half. the sound system is decent, the face of the deck pops off for security. cd, am/fm, no tape deck.
i also have skunk2 coilovers on this car.
car's best run is 14.59@95mph on crappy wal-mart all-weathers.

this is not a very pretty car. actually, i'm kind of happy when people tell me it's not ugly. this is essentially a swap that will act as your daily driver until you find the right donor car. i'm willing to drive a couple hundred miles for the buyer's pickup. if the buyer wants to pick it up, i'll toss in the old d15 for free.

once again, liam, i apreciate this.
to the hater above me, please remember that you'd need a $350+ mount kit and ~$125 shift linkage in addition to your 1500 swap. add in the wiring headaches or a $300 hasport wiring harness and it already totals at least 2 grand. the car's proven healthy, with no cels. headache free!

 

Whatever you say, but I dont see, no one but me tryin to get in on this, so you must be doin somethin wrong (asking to much), take a look at the other cars that are similar in spec to your car, and they are gettin a ton of hits. Once again, 1000 and you can keep the rear interior pieces, and your spare engine.

Its the best offer, so I say you take it. Its got more body damage then the car is worth but I would like to get it, so why not sell it to me? I can have the money this weekend.

BTW, Im not tryin to hate just givin you the facts that Im sure you already know.

Oh and when is registration due on it, soon Im guessing. How are they goin to pass smog again, do you have a recipt for the engine so they can take it to the ref? Im just tryin to show you all the downfalls of this car and the reason Im only offering you 1000.

Sorry, I dont think Im low balling you. Has anyone else replied? Thats cause your asking to much. Tell what you think would be fair price for a car with around $1000 worth of body damage, and needs a whole new exhaust system, plus they other liitle broken things.

If you really want to get your money out of the deal I suggest you pull the engine and sell it alone.

The simple fact is Im either tryin to get a cat out of the deal or help him, or another buyer out by offering up as many potential problems with this car. Well either way it doesnt matter if I had 50 posts in this thread, Im just tryin to get a good deal but you and your brother both seem to want to make eqaully none contributive posts, so I have a suggestion, you stop posting in this thread unless you would like to put in ofer in on this car or have some info on the car which might help potential buyers, but hey its a free world post all you want Fred Tate. Im so sure your just th e ultimate guru in all things automotive and that youve help more people than Ive met in my life, so Ill leave this issue at that.

You do know what OBO means, and flaming prices would most likely refer to someone not even putting in an offer or a reasonble one, which I believe mine is but Im tryin to see what the SELLER not you has to say about it, so Ill post till Im old and grey, if I feel the need.

this thread went to hell pretty damn quickly.
the engine, tranny and ecu are worth a grand by themselves. $1000 is a lowball, and that's the bottom line.
this is not something that will sit in your basement/garage/living room for weeks while you try and find a decent shell to put it in. this is a car. this will drive you to work and school for however long you need it to, while embarassing the odd ricer and stock 5.0.
this car is not perfect, and i've been more than honest in pointing out its faults.

$2000 is a GREAT deal for this car. im not in the market to buy one anymore or i would be all over it.

people need to respect other people's posts. argue somewhere else. ONE.

omg this thread when to hell...

First off..i sold my CRX for $500 with no interior, no motor, no tranny, just a rolling shell.

This has a b16a swap, so add in $1000 for the swap, the $500 crx (with complete interior), and then the $300 mount kit, $150 coilovers, and then the misc other money like shift linkage and stuff and you have easily spent $2000. Not to mention this one is registered until sept. Mine was out of registration for 5 years.

And about gsr_vx_hatch "rules"...you need to calm down. Nobody has to post the vin, if you want it ask for it we will provide. As for shipping its up to the buyer to figure that out (i said pickup). And you have been flaming more then anybody else.

$1000 is totally a low ball offer. If you dont like the price...DONT POST HERE.

So please lets keep this thread to the car at hand. If you have a question...post we will answer. If you dont like the price....make an offer. (but again $1000 is pretty lame)

Ok, re-read my posts and then do it again, so your clear on what Im saying, because you obiously didnt when you just posted. I never asked for a vin and it says "i'm willing to drive a couple hundred miles for the buyer's pickup." I also said he could keeo the rear interior, anlong with the old motor, and since when do people start comparing retail price to what it is worth on the car? So can I sell my car for like 10gs since thats what I put in it? No. I am willing to work a deal out here but I have not gotten a reply other than 1000 is not enough. I could do 1000 plus some slightly used itr pistons and rods, i bought them for 300. So if you sell the rear interior for 250 + 100 for the stock engine 300 for pistons/rods + 1000cash = $1650 which is very fair for this car. Im the only one makin an offer, if its such a good deal at 2000 why hasnt anyone else gone for it??

Hmm, NM some mob felt the need to mess with my posts and take my % down, oh well that wont last long. There is a difference between flamin on prices and making a low offer to work up from. It called getting the best deal for your money live it, learn it, love it.
