Do you guys really think that bar makes a difference that far in the rear of the car? Your car only handles better because you think it does, but hey man its your car so feel free to do as you please. The car is going to flex more at the shock towers and that is why most people run theirs between the two. It is also the best place to attach the down tubes on a roll cage with a cross bar in the middle, rather than all the way in the rear of the car.

Yes I'm still skeptical of this mod, although it is easy to do, I'm wondering about its effectiveness. Seems like everyone who has done it loves it. I think the next person should do some sort of blind test drive, with and without the bar with the help of a friend, and really see if they can tell the difference, as opposed to the placebo effect.

well i wrote up a lil how to https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=386523

if you don't belive try it out for yourself for the money its worth a try

and why would the Integra Type R come with a trunk bar if it didn't do anything?

I autoX, that doesn't make me an expert, but I can def notice a difference in handling with the trunk bar in.

This acutally is more effective than the strut tower bars, not much engergy is exerted on those shock towers, if our cars were a mac strut design the strut tower bars would have a greater impact

I have two truck bars, I have no plans on buying a rear strut bar...no need

I've sold this trunk bar to another integra owner and another friend with a civic....both of them said it made a noticeable difference in handling. The friend with the civic even said it helped more than his rear strut tower bar did ( which cost him more)

How does this actually mount? Does it mount to existing holes, or do you have to drill new holes?

existing threaded holes, that is the reason for the certain size bolts.

Actually a bar spanning between the points where the upper links on the rear suspension attach to the frame (where you put washers to correct negative camber) would make the greatest difference. A rear shock tower brace would probably make more of a difference than this bar since it is closer to the points where those upper links attack to the frame.

Looks stupid!!! Its hasn't even been proven that it stiffens the chasis. Anyone can drill holes and hook up bars onto them and say it works.

Hey, show me where anyone asked your opinion? This thread is purely informative, if you don't like the idea then don't do it but there's no need to bash it. Nobody's proved that it works, but has anyone proved that it doesn't work? Untill you can come up with an informed answer either way, feel free to keep your mouth shut. Thanks, and have a nice day.

I think a trunk brace that contacted 3 pts would be more beneficial. As I see it now, that bar is only counteracting forces on one plane. If the chassis were to flex in any other direction other than parallel to the bar (ie, longitudally), the bar itself would rotate about its endpoints.

At the very least, use two bolts on either end of the bar.

Tom

(did any of that make any sense?)

I was thinking that myself, does anyone have any ideas as to where you could put the third point?

The third point would be a plus, but would also require welding to make the triangle, which means the $12 pricetag is out the window.

haha...how can you trash talk if you haven't tried it

my lil how to https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=386523

if you have a considerate amount of bracing in the back, then this trunk bar won't make a noticable difference ( if you have ITR OEM trunk brace, rollbar, rollcage, c-pillar bar)

My friend who has a rear strut tower bar said " The trunk bar you made me is more noticable than the strut bar"

Doubt all you want, I really don't care, its your loss not mine.

I haven't had a single person that used the trunk bar say, that the bar didn't help
