Default Disable ABS Brakes

I think ABS sucks in the snow... They come on way too early and make it even harder to stop becuase they come on way before the threshold of skidding. They are great in all other cases but snow.

How can you turn them off???

you will have NO Steering control is all the wheels are locked up...

i think you should keep abs on. b/c when you slide on ice you have more control of the steering when you slide. but without abs you just gonna slide and no control of any steering.

i think abs sucks in ice/snow...i know this from experience...you can steer w/o them too if you know how to drive in these conditions.....all you have to do is pull the e-brake handle up 1 click until the light comes on the dash and drive around for around 20-30 seconds until the ABS light comes on, and they're off! you can put the e-brake handle back down after the light comes on....(note:you have to be moving with the handle up 1 click to make it work.)

Thats why I asked what year car, because I do know that it DOES NOT work for 98+ integras.

but you will wish you had abs when you are in a accident that toke a like a sec. what if you are tailing some1 and its icy out, he slams on the brake you will slide right into him. you wont have time to even think bout pulling the e-brake. atleast with abs you wont slide you will gradualy slow down. its totally up to you, im just telling you what i think.

I just pulled the fuse in the ABS fuse box under the hood. I live in Buffalo, so we get plenty of snow and I love driving in it without the ABS. It was just too freakin annoying

To disable your abs brakes, just cut the lines.

I own a 2000 LS and it has no ABS breaks. I was driving my g/f car today, a 99 civic si with ABS break...what a pain in the ******* ***. Each stop light I came to they were going off like crazy. I never have a problem stopping in my Teg with no ABS. I agree they are a great idea on wet or dry pavement when you are skidding to a stop but in the snow, they are very annoying and don't do anything.

Just wish I had them for the summer but glad I don't in the winter.

on a side note...

Brake = what stops a car.

Break = what happens when you dont use the other spelling, and hit a tree.

This segment was brought to you by the letter "B"

Could this possibly have anything to do with the fact you may have been going to fast.

okay, I hate ABS - grew up with out it - never have liked it. if you have a feel for the road driving in snow without ABS is no big deal, you just need to know how do drive. Give yourself plenty of distance and have decent tires on. Zrated rubber is not ment for snow and every year I am amazed at how many people don't know this... Do you guys race with ABS?

It's about 50/50 on abs with road racers, Personally If I had I would use it, its basially somplifes what you have to brake for a corner... i.e. slam it to the floor and let the ABS do the thershold braing for you.
