engine cutting out HELP!

engine cutting out HELP!
Got a problem everytime i shift mainly from first to second in the 2500 -3000 rpm range my car cuts out really bad 
. I replaced the fuel filter about 3k ago just wondering if anyone had any clue to what this could be.. any help would be great.
