Whats the dif. between the series B17 and D17

The 93 GSR is 1.7 B17
The 2001 civic EX is 1.7 D17
Its obvious that there different series,
But what is the difference?

one has 2 cams, the other has 1 cam

as far as dinky its the same size as the B17 and theyre not really all that hard to make fast, not to mention cheaper and easier to get good power out of, the turbo manifolds for D's are a lot cheaper also
