Default Accord Intake problems.

I went to one of the local car shops here in Socal to get an AEM Intake for my accord. When we went into the back of the shop to toss it in, he took out the stock intake, and tried to put it on, and the end of the intake where the filter is runs into the battery.... I found this quite odd, and was wondering if anyone has heard of this. They thought the battery was bigger than most, but i went to Kolbe Honda, and they said the battery i had was smaller than most of the stock batteries they had. Would anyone know an easy way to fix this?

Thanks in advance.

You have to cut a hole in the metal next to the battery.

Too bad you are in So Cal. I have a DC sports shorty intake I could sell you for short $$. I used it before I put in my AEM CAI. For '97 Accords you do not need to cut a hole but you do need to remove the stock box and resonator etc. for AEM CAI.

He he he,,, move the battery,,,,,,, he he. Thats good. Yeah,,, find a new dealer. The one you went to pulled the wrong part. And if he did not realize it then it must have been the first intake he ever sold.

hahah. yeah, prolly. The stories i hear about the guys who own the shop are pretty bad. I'm trying to find a place that has good prices as well with good people who work there.

If anyone knows some, i'd like to hear from ya.

Could anyone post a pic of an Engine bay? Perhaps my battery is in the wrong place? I don't know.. I bought the car used, and the Intake seemed right. But i'm still not sure how right the guys at the shop were. I don't think the intake was AEM, because this intake from what I now remember was rather thick, and from what i've seen AEM has small piping compared to this thing.

Very similar to 97 except the battery would be rotated 90 degrees with negative terminal closer to radiator. Full AEM CAI intake is routed to the fender side of the batter through the original intake opening in the fender well. A shorty would sit pretty much where your is.

The 4th generation does needs to be cut...
other then that everything matched up with my intake. Maybe they got the wrong one?
I'll try and post good pictures of mine this weekend when I get in a garage somewhere.

Oh jesus.. that guy was dumb then. He was trying to put it in the other way, and... if that's what the intake looks like for the 97 accord too.. it was wrong. I'm gonna find a new shop.

Thanks for all the help guys.
