Default Gsr vtec crossover on reprogramed ecu

My friend sent his p28 to get reprogrammed and told the guy to set the vtec crossover at 5300 because he got CTR cams but you dont see or hear anything happen until about 5600 -5700. We callled him and he checked it and said he did. He said it is right but u dont really hear it until 5600. Is he just saying that cause he doesnt want him to send it back so he has to do more work or is this true?

This is true, but you should still hear/feel vtec at 5300 rpm, then at a little under 6000 rpm you will really start to feel the pull.

If there is no vtec crack/pop at 5300 then he did reprogram the ecu wrong, cause you should be able to hear it loud and clear. I do with my gsr at stock vtec engagement.

Dont think your referring to me because dont think i ever sold you anything...also, if any of my chips or ecu's go bad or dont work properly, i send another program that has been personally tested on my own car. Keep buggin the guy who sent you the chip and get another one that has been tested! You should hear or at least feel the vtec x over at 5300 if he says thats where he set it to.
