Grinding noise in turns. Wheel bearing?
In high speed turns (Highway usually, maybe 35-40 Minimum speed, Slower speed requires sharper turn.) I hear a grinding/squeaking noise.
It sounds as though it's coming from the front wheel that's on the inside of the turn. (Both left and right turns.) It sounds kinda like a key cutter, but very faint. I wouldn't have noticed it had I not had my stereo off.
Brakes make no difference in the noise, although it does change pitch as the speed changes. Pads were new 8k Miles ago with machined rotors.
Car has 176K miles on it.
I think that's all the relavent info.
Thanks in advance.

Check your CV joints. (the drive shafts) I bet with the miles that the boot has ripped and there is no greese in there fore casuing the grinding noise... Just take off one of the wheels and looks at the Boots and if they are ripped they you need to replace the CV's.
Good luck

I thought that causes a "ClickClickClickClickClickClickClick" noise in low speed turns...
Last time I was under the car (About two months ago.) I remember one of the clamps had come off. I slipped it back on, and inspected the boot. The boot was fine. No tears or deep cracks. I don't remember how much grease was in it though.
I'll check it again though. It's about time for an oil change.

I think I know what the problem is....
check the front brake dust cover on each side, and make sure it doesn't hit anything around it.
If it is kind of close to something that it might hit when you turn, bend it whichever way to clear it..

I'm gonna check that out when I rotate the tires. I'll rotarte thet ires when I have them off this week for the axle swap. (See my other threads.)

If it is the cv joint, just replace the boot or you can spend 100 bucks on a new one.....and if it is the dust cover just bend it back, its only made of aluminum...........and your last option, if you do find out it's the wheel bearing(due to em being shot) and you need help on steps how to replace it, just ask and I'll give you the steps on how to uninstall/install a new one.
yeah i have that problem with my rear passenger side. did a gsr rear brake swap recently....
still cant figure out the problem...dust shield isnt hitting anything...just cant figure it out
