Default MTK ! I need ur help with hid's....everyone else welcome for advice

i just purchased a pair of audi projectors.
I plan on putting them in my integra headlights in place of the stock ones so i can run OEM hid.
Anyhow, MTK, what do you know about taking the old projector out and making the new ones fit in their place? any modifications to make the projector mount? how does it mount into place?
thanks in advance

Yep, if you really want to find him quick, look for carbon fiber hood threads

You should really read up on this website: http://faq.auto.light.tripod.com/

Lots of information on how to do the swap.

You can use mounting brackets, screws, wingnuts, epoxy, jb weld, it really depends on how you want to go about it!

What is wrong with everyone? Nobody takes pictures!

-skafia, who will be tackling this problem this weekend, btw, what Projectors did you get?

i got the audi a4/s4 projectors

i'm wondering about the placement of the bulb holders relative to the outside housing of the integra headlight housing. the projector bulb holders have to extend past the back of the headlight so you can put the socket over it...

Well unless this casing around the projector can be removed, it looks like it might be a difficult swap:

All you have to do is heat up the housing in an oven!

those are gonna flicker a lot.. see that curved bend in the shield.. thats what will give you that big blue band at your cutoff line..

Whatever happens, we better get a step by step tutorial at the end of this...

Some of us are too lazy to be pioneers, but still want results

MTK - yeah, the AUDI Projectors are amazing. The blue cut off line is awesome and the flicker is cool too!

Notice how sharp the cutt of line is (even with the fucked up reflector)

We finished one headlight, we're doing the other tonight. Check my other thread for pictures of the brackets that we made.

To open the headlight preheat your oven to 400 degrees. Place headlight on cookie sheet (where it doesn't touch the oven directly). Turn the oven off. Let the headlight sit in the oven for 10 minutes. Take it out and pry it open with a butterknife. It is very hot and its hard to take it apart, you need a friend to pull it apart. Also, don't forget to remove all of the rubber hoses/plastic pieces of the back of the headlight or it might melt, and don't forget to take out the bulbs as well!
