Whoever has installed ES bushings, or not, I have a question.
Okay, for some reason I decided to start my bushing set today. I have come across a set of bushings, for the upper and lower ball joints, and the steering rod.
Well, here is this:

And here is the bushing next to the joint.

Is that right? How do I put it on? Do I just cut the old rubber bushing off, and slide the new one on? If so, do I need to lube it slightly with axle grease?
Thanks

those are dust boots... to correctly put them on.. you separate the balljoint and pop the retaining clip off the original dust boot.. and then slide on the new one.
I would not even bother putting them on

You use a acetylne torch, set the rubber on fire let it burn. Once that is done let it cool, then use an air chisel to knock out the Bushing case.
i used to sawall on all the metal sleeves to slit them in 2 spots. then with the air chisel i popped them out. you can also use a hand chisel to get in between the sleeve and control arm and then hammer it out. once it starts to move it will pop right out. the key is to cut the sleeves first.
tell me how u get those rear LCA metal sleeves out
This is the method I am using.

i decided not to use the Rear lca bushings. so i am going to sell my 88 rear lcas and the bushings to go with it
