Sup Yall.

I am like most considering my choices as I want to spend about
1500 total on a solid 2.5" exhaust system, while retaining my
OBD2 ECU. I figure later I can swap that out as my car gets
futher modified and would need full tuning.

I have a DC2, GSR head(ITR LMAs and springs stock HG), 01 USDM ITR block, GSR manifolds, stock intake and exhaust(w/98 ITR muffler) with GSR cams producing about 160/125 at the wheels corrected currently with some advanced timing, intake cam tuning and proper lashes set on the rockers. Pretty fun.

I plan on going for cams a bit later after I can open this guy up a bit with a proper exhaust.

I am thinking:

Comptech Competition header
2.5" carsound cat
custom 2.5" mandrel bent piping
some kind of 2/5" dual pass or "stock looking" muffler
anyone have a 2.5" JDM ITR stock muffler I can buy?

I have the Comptech rear sway/tie so any N1 style exhaust not
possible... also sound is a concern.

Any thoughts/suggestions are appreciated.

 

Mike, are you on TI also? If so, I'm sure you've read the gains SurferX got from his full Hytech system (30whp). Possible to save up a little more for one of those systems?

 

I'd suggest the following:

SMSP header
2.5" Carsound cat.
SMSP cat-back
JDM ITR muffler isn't 2.5"

Just reinforcing that the ITR muffler is something like 2.25" through and not 2.5".
