Default ED9 steering rack removal.

First of all I searched but couln't find the answer, so...

I'm in the process of removing my Si rack, and I've gotten the mounts undone, but I can't seem to slide the pinion shaft out of the rear crossmember far enough to be able to rotate the rack. It will drop down about 1&1/4" but then it "catches" on something and won't come out any further. Am I forgetting something, or do I just need to jerk that bitch out of there?

TIA, James

Default Re: ED9 steering rack removal. (bluboy)

N/M the bolts that connect the U-joints from the column weren't loose enough

I will be posting pics shortly so you can all revel in the glory that is the thoroughly destroyed boot on the passenger side of the rack.
