Default Car won't start, need help...

I know this isn't directly FI related, but i get the best help from here, so.....Here's the deal, i have a vented carbon fiber hood and the vents are directly above the valve cover. Water goes through the vents and sits on the valve cover. It has started fine with the hood for a few months, but recently it has been freezing here in St. Louis. I went to start my car a few days age and it kinda started and then it died. After that, i could not get it to turn over. I pulled all 4 plugs and found that they were all wet, so i switched back to a dry set and still nothing. It sounds like it wants to start, but i'm thinking there might not be enough of a spark. Anyway, i let it sit over the weekend and went to start it today and it kinda strarted again, but died and wouldn't start thereafter. So, what could be the problem and how can i fix it? Thanks for any help.

Still sounds a little damp to me... I would give it a little time or use a hair dryer or something similar to speed up the process.

First, I'd dump that hood. Then, I would take out the plugs and dry out the plug wires where the connnect to the plugs. Could your distributor be wet also?

i ran around for a few weeks with no hood(stock one flipped up onto roof/windshield), and I had the same problems...distributor cap was my culprit. I bet the seal is worn/broke/whatevered. try that...

did you dry the spark plug chambers before you pull it out?, cause if you didn't water might have gotten into your piston cylinder block chamber, and would have problem with spark still.

I'd like to get a new hood, but my stock hood is crunched, so i thnk i'm gonna hafta fab up something to re-route water. I'm gonna let it sit and hopefully it will dry out and start. Thanks.

I had this problem too! My car started and then I shut it down and then tried starting it again and couldn't get it to start. Would turn over but there was not spark. After replacing the plugs and what not, I tried starting and still nothing. I finally took off the cap and checked the rotor, it was good but the problem was the center electrode that connects to the starter. The spring was worn down and it wasn't making contact with the rotor. swapped the cap and rotor and no problems starting!! haha, knock on wood! I'd replace that first or at least check it out!
