Outer Diameter of 225/50-15 Radials? How will gearing be effected.
I wanted to buy some 225/50-15 BFG DragRadials, but I also have the option of getting some 22*8*15" Slicks for alot less. I'd prefer to get the radials, so I can run them on the street, and perhaps reduce the likelyhood of snapping axles. It's not worth trying to run fast ET's when im only making 200whp. I'll go back when I sleeve my block and make a good 15-20more whp. Then ill run 22*8*13 slicks on lenso's or bogarts.
but until then, what's the outerdiameter of a tire that would be 225/50-15". I want to make sure that im not running too big of a tire. I want to almost shift 5th at the track, maybe cross at like 9200 in 4th. I have a b16 tranny will this work out?

225/50/15 is pretty close to 24 inches in diameter.

but remember that you're going to air it down to 15-20 psi. (i air down to 20). which will make it shorter than the calculated figure.
