my little brother has a 90 crx si recently it started smoking does anybody know what could be causing it.

do u go to the doc and tell him that u are coughing and expect him to tell u whats wrong with u???

and now to ur ?????? if it blows white smoke and stinks it cna be coolant leak... if i tblows white smoke and stinks like gas , u are not getting spark oin once CYL and u are floodind one cylinder
if it blows black smoke, u are also running rich, but have spark
if u blow blue smoke ua re burning oil

hope that helps... go out there,.. smell the smoke, check when it does it!! cold, hot, etc... check for any fluids levels going low... etc...
give the car a tune up....

 

it blows white smoke and the 2 middle spark plugs get covered with oil.

Join the club, my 91 si hatch smokes like a bitch. 1 qt of oil per 130 miles. HAHA. I am going to put my old crx engine though. Does yours use a lot of oil? But yeah, sounds like the h gasket, because it is all the sudden. Mine slowly started doing it, I am sure its the piston rings, and the valve seals on mine. Whats the mileage? Ryan

 

mine smokes to; it smokes liek a mug when i get on it, if i get on it & teh person behind me has their windows down, it looks like a cheech & chong movie in tehir car, lol. oh well, new motor coming soon; this one has 165,xxx miles on it...

 

could be the "o" rings!
