Default b16a pressure plate spring rubbing the clutch plate...

i pulled out my b16a today and ive got a few problems, a broken knock sensor, and bad thermostat, which dont really bother me, as all i have to do is replace them, but the one thing i am a little concerned about, i always noticed the car i pulled the motor from had a really stiff clutch pedal and now that i got the motor out i figured ill inspect the clutch, the car had a brand new exedy clutch in it but the fingers or whatever on the pressure plate are rubbing on the clutch disk and wearing it down (see pic) can anyone tell me what is causeing this?? the car had the stock d-series cable still is that enough to make it do this or what else might cause it??

edit--- heres the pic btw...

Are you sure you put the release spring in the correct spot on the release fork, it goes in a certain grooved area.
