Default Will B18C crank/rods in B16B yeild a 1.8L?

From what I've read and heard, the block height of the B16B is the same as the B18C (270mm). So would swapping the B18C crank and rods yeild 1.8L? Or am I missing a key ingredient in the equation? Someone I know has a good price on a B16B but would rather have a B18C, if this is possible, he will go for it.

Thanks...

Thanks. I'll inform my friend.

Are there any dangers to this?

Also, will it retain the same R/S ratio as the B18C spec R?

It is every bit as safe as a B18C setup. It will have the same R/S ratio as the B18C specR because you are using the same rods and crank.

Good luck.
