heh, sorry I wasn't trying to be an ***. Altitude has a direct effect on the density of fuel, which=power. To use as a ballpark rule of thumb, a 300hp car at 0' sea level will be equivalent to a 250hp car at 5000'.

Density and barometric pressure have a direct effect also, so a FI motor may not react the same as a n/a car would. This is all IMO, so please correct me if wrong.

is the power analogy backwards?

I don't think so, but I may not be understanding what you mean. The higher elevation will result in the slower the car. At 5000' above sea level, a 300hp car will be ~250hp, assuming no other "static" changes, no?

I did, however, indicate that density and barometric pressure are different, but wouldn't they be considered as one?

Seems a little quick to me....especially the trap speed for such little mods.

What kinda of timing system was used...most likely the SCC gun/radar timing system. I dont see a 13.50 at a drag strip with a 2.10 60 unless your making 200whp with stock cams and displacement and compression....

Active Aero should read this post...he ran a 13.7?@100 on streets with a similar 60 but thats about as quick as I have seen from a very lightly modded R on streets.

Notice the trap speed....nowhere near 103+almost 104!!!

But if ya did it major props.....I just dont see I/H/ecu/fly ITR running 13.50's on streets (drag radials with a 1.9 60 maybe) but 104mph <---- thats some power 2600-2800lbs + 104 traps from a basically stock ITR

That does seem a bit fast for the mods and the 60 ft...

So you are trapping almost 104mph on the stock cams? Does someone want to do the math on that one because unless you are stripped to the max that isn't happening.

Are Euro drag strips 1/4 mile or 400 meters? I can't remember from Gran Turismo

Not that that would explain the trap speed, either. Ah well, back to

I knew what you mean but what you said here is

a 300hp car at 0' sea level will be equivalent to a 250hp car at 5000'
Is saying that the higher hp car at sea level is equal to a lower hp car at elevation.

Basically a 250 hp car = a 300 hp car at elevation.

all in the symantics

i think he left out nitrous for his setup.. there no way to launch a 2.1 60ft and somehow speed up to 104mph - to pull something like that, he would need whp in 200's.. 104mph could be good to pull almost 12's in U.S. now that he's in Europe I'm almost convinced they got a different system going on...

I have done no math here but I ran 101.81 mph in the 1/4 with a few bolt ons making around 179 whp. 2 more hp is worth 2 mph? and 104 in the 12's? I think some numbers are a little off from every one.

I am glad you saw this. I converted my times and traps

13.63@101 with an EK and a C5 motor (only spining to 8K) with a 2.08 60

13.50's@104 w/2.1 60 means not only is he lighter than me...he is making alot more power.

I put down 165whp when I ran my times....104 traps means he is making at least 20-25whp more 185-190+ and is lighter than my hatch. I dont see that with his mods but......

An explanation of the timing system used to run these times would be good. Being a few tenths off ET wise with such high mph's leads me to beleive its a laser/radar timing system and not an "NHRA" style timing system used.

I dont think any of us WANT to call BS its just under the same conditions many many many ITR's have not posted 13.50's on streets with so few mods/ 165-175whp.....so until it can be proven I would clasify this under a G-Tech meter time....not totally wrong but not totally accurate...do you have the runs you made when you were closer to stock for reference?
