It doesn't look good for Sam Hornish and Panther Racing, or any of the other Chevy-powered teams in the IRL. Honda/Toyota drivers took the top 11 spots during the Test in the West.

The best any Chevy driver could manage was Sam Hornish in 12th place.

 

And the Japanese engine wars have moved to the IRL. Collateral casualties: Chevy and Infiniti

December 2002 - Toyota and NASCAR announce Toyota's move to the NASCAR truck series for 2004. (note; NASCAR websites are running rampant with rumors that Penske and Toyota will join forces in 2007 in Winston Cup. Again, this would necessitate Penske "Dumping Dodge").
