2000 Mugen-Equipped Prelude, 5-speed, Nighthawk Black
For sale in the Chicagoland area:
2000 Honda Prelude, Nighthawk Black Pearl, 5-speed, with all the basic engine mods and about 46,000 mostly highway miles on it.
To start, the exhaust and header are both Mugen pieces - about two years old - and do a nice job of rounding out and deepening the exhaust note. Under minimal load, it sounds just about stock, but under WOT, the note takes on a nice, robust sound, without any harshness or lawnmower quality to it. These two pieces are about as nice as it gets for a Prelude, to see them and get an idea on pricing go to http://www.kingmotorsports.com.
As for the rest, I have an Iceman intake with attachments for either competition or wetlands setups. Added a nice deeper induction sound. Also have a filter recharger kit to go with it.
Also, while I have the full set of AEM underdrive pullies, I only have one (the power steering pulley) installed. However, I do have the alternator pulley with all the pieces, so all you'd have to do is install.
Within the last six months (last August), I also had the timing belt tensioner replaced with the new, updated piece. Along with that, since we were in there we swapped out the timing belt also.
A Fidanza flywheel and Action clutch also were installed at that time. The Fidanza is a great piece also, making throttle response much more immediate than the stocker piece, which I still have. The clutch feels like stock but has some better high-RPM grabbiness to it for nice launches.
I also recently reshod my tires with Pirelli P7000 Supersports within the last 5K miles, so there's a lot of life left on those babies.
There have been minor dressup mods, including a carbon fiber factory dash kit, a Momo leather/alum. shift **** (nice because it does not heat up a lot in the heat of the summer), and a set of red NGK plug wires.
The interior is in great shape, with only a slight scratch on the glove box door. The exterior has a nick (about the size of a pinpoint) on the hood and one or two minor door dings.
Have never had the car dynoed or at the track.
The majority of the miles racked up on this car were highway trips between Madison, Wis. and Chicago, Ill.
Now for the important stuff: I'm asking $16,000 OBO for her with all the aftermarket stuff. And since the car works so well as a package, I AM NOT WILLING TO PART IT OUT.
LET ME REPEAT, I AM NOT WILLING TO PART IT OUT.
Send serious inquiries and offers only to Ed at catch22@attbi.com.
