i recently bought my crx and have lately noticed that it makes sounds when i am going over bumps and when i switch gears. it sounds like something is loose or like a "jacked" motor mount or something. i was also thinking it might be a loose break rotor or even a warped brake rotor. any input would be the bomb diggity!

 

hmm...steering rack could be a little loose...

mine sounds about like that...but its because my coilovers make noise when going over rough terrain. and when i slam gears the dash shakes a little cuz my clutch

 

if it were the steering rack, how would i fix that up so it doesnt drive me crazy like a motha.... same here with tha gear slammin'

 

I'm starting to hear a clicking noise when i roll over bumps or cracks in the road...

The only thing i can think of is my bushings or my steering rack thing you guys talk about.....

And i have an other problem with my rotors (i think), When ever i hit the brakes at high speeds or brake down a hill my steering wheel shakes like crazy...

What you guys think?

 

Its a long shot but check to make sure your corner lenses are tight.

 

check to make sure that the nut on the end of the raduis rod, the end that goes into the crossmember, is tight.

 

humm... your rotors could be warped or something like that. or just not on tight enough.

 

Check out your ball joints, tie rod ends, steering rack for loose bolts/nuts. The shaking when braking is typically due to warped rotors. A popping sound when turning is usually the outer CV joints. The best way to check these things is a large pry bar. Pull and push the spherical joints and check for relative motion between the parts. Turn the rotors.

 

the only thing i can think of is welcome to the world of 4th gen . i think most 4th gens makes alot of weird noises. its just an older car. it takes awhile to work all those little things out but as you begin to know your car better its alot eaiser to pin point them. good luck

 

your rotors are definitely warped. as for the poster of this topic, just start replacing stuff with brand new honda stuff, nothing you do will hurt, and youll eventually find the problem.
