Default B18C5 - B18C6

I`ve got a UKDM ITR with a B18C5 engine... My friends (older) ITR is a UKDM and has a B18C6 engine.....

What is the difference between these?

I believe the C6 was the UK engine, and the C5 is the US engine.

Compression :
B18C6 (UK/Euro) has 11.1:1 CR
B18C5 (US) has 10.6:1 CR

The rest is essentially the same US is rated 195bhp, UK/Euro is rated 190PS (187bhp)

Is this correct? If so, i wonder why i have C5 when my car is UK? In lovely Milano Red........

It would seem the original motor had been replaced with a USDM version.
Probably easier to find at the time.

Are you sure you have an B18C5?
That's very strange...... Is there an on the valve cover?

You cannot compare US HP with PS, because it's measured differently. Like with or without accessories connected etc. The US norm is called SAE and the Euro norm is ECE. The C6 is stronger than the C5, it's basically the JDM engine except the header...

Do you have a picture of the engine bay?

It´s very strange... a C5 in UK ??? That block is USDM spec, every euro import ITR´s are C6, that engine might have been rebuilt.
