got a ?? about suspension, my 90 crx hf strut has 10.5 coils on it, and 92-00 civic struts factory have 14 coils on it, and the strut itself appeared to be the same length as the 92-00 civic struts, could i put civic struts on my crx?? i don't see any problems. when you take a 94 civic for example say an si hatch, lets say you do it ghetto style, cut the springs, it has 14 coils, you cut 3 off, cut the bump stop down and the will ride pretty nicely for a few months till the springs settle and or the struts blow, and yes i know this is ghetto, but now say you take a crx strut which has 10 coils, cut 2-3 off, and there is no bump stop, b/c its dry rotted/old, like a dried up sponge its gonna ride like ****, so could i put civic struts on the crx say 92-00.

 

they will probably fit if thats all your concerned with... the reason the 92-00 civic springs have more coils is because they weigh more... they might end up raising your car instead of lowering it, if thats what you're trying to do... and if you cut the coils, well expect a crappy ride... if i were you i would just do it "right" and buy what is made for my car instead of settling for parts someone else has for another car at a cheap price

 

i agree with you, i just got this crx last monday, and wanted lowered just cuz it sat too high, so i did ghetto style and cut 3 coils off the front, bump stops were non existent, crumbled, put the front down, it rides like a damn mini truck without bags.
putting stock springs back in it tomorrow, until i can a good setup for it. any suggestions its a 90 crx hf, any recommendations on strut setup, (tokicos, teins, koni) any good recomendations would help.

 

i'm running neuspeed race with koni yellows... rides and handles great imo... it depends on the persons taste
