as far as strut bars go i think a generic does just fine... i got my front and rear upper strut bars by bomz racing off ebay for like $50... for sway bars, i hear suspension techniques makes a good one for the price... eibach and neuspeed are ones to check out also but are a bit pricey... try to find one that is adjustable
I have a Neuspeed front upper right now and I really like it. I had a generic rear upper also previously and it worked great and I only paid like $39 for it, totally made a difference. The rear upper makes more of a difference than the front upper IMO...

I have the bomz bars from ebay, they are ok.. But Honestly the 1 piece Neuspeed/Sprint bars are way better, they are alot stiffer and reduce chasis flex a bit more than the adjustable types.

If you are looking to stiffen the car up, the front and rear stress bars without the pivot bolts or heim joints will give more strength. I use the Neuspeed solid front and rear uppers on my car. Adding a pivot or heim may make installation a little easier and look more techy but real goal is to be stiffer in all planes of motion and not make motion easier. Pivots let motion happen in some directions and not in others. Solid resists motion in all directions.
I have generic strut bars and they do just fine. I have just recently put on Suspension Techniques sway bars 22 mm both front and back. I also put '91 LX springs onto my '88 DX HB. This helped to re-level the body as I also have a ZC swap. The LX springs are just the right stiffness for a flat cornering car without such a rough ride. I also added KYB AGX adjustable shocks. Now the ride is good and I can wail through the corners. Sleeper!

I prefer the Neuspeed over all others. As for sway bars, Suspension Techniques are great. I prefer to only to run the rear ST bar and keep the stock front sway bar. Too much understeer with the big ST front bar in place.
I have Skunk2 upper front and lower rear bars on my coupe and they make a huge difference. They are high quality and very solid. My brother just purchased an ebay upper front for his e36 Bim, and the quality is kinda shitty. He didnt really notice a huge difference. I would rather spend the extra cash and get the good ****
make your own strong front bar......get 2 legnths of conduit, drill a couple holes near the center, put a bolt through. Then, spread the ends some and flatten them. Drill holes and install like a regular bar. Caution: this has not been tested by me yet, but I plan on making something to this effect at some point. Tell me what you think.
i have a nuspeed front and no name rear, the nuspeed seems to work great everyone and their motor loves them, i want a spoon or skunk 2
and the rear, my no name just a great job, and i got it for 25 so i was very happy. i like the rear, and since its ADJ. i can make my rear end slid out a little easier by pulling it in, and i can make the rear grip by psuhing out. but would also like spoon/skunk 2 for that as well.
the best rear one, is you go to a hardwood store, buy 2inch metal pipe, and weld it inbetween the two towards. thats your bets way!!!

neuspeed strut bars front upper, rear upper and rear lower. when the battery is in the back of the car and some subs, the rear does ALOT. Very stiff, i like them a lot. I am also running suspension techniques front and rear sways. Work great, again the rear does ALOT. For a while i was runnning the car with just the front st sway bar but then finally got the rear on and man, massive difference. Car is also lowered but handles like a god with the right shocks and springs. neuspeed bars are very much so worth it, i went to an import shop and they had a dc sports front upper bar there. I put my hand on the middle of the bar pushed down and the bar flexed. No hope there. I had to strain to just get my neuspeed front upper bar on it was so stiff i think it helped push my chassi out some. very nice, highly recomended.
