how to tell what 1.5 liter engine i have
read the stamp on the block, its on the front.
by the way you are from portland
My moms got a house in Vancouver,WA just across the bridge, koo
I wish I was there, such a beatiful place, havent been there in a while.
Just though I'd let you know that.
You have a D15B7.
1.5 SOHC, Factory 102HP. I did a lot with this engine before it turned into a hand grenade. It didn't mind the Z6 head, but after a few bottles of the nitrous, the #1 rod decided to make a few holes in the block.
It was fun while it lasted, I amazed a few people with that setup.

You do not want the 1.5 l vtec.....there slow as hell and made only for better gas milage..also they are a 8valve compared to your 16 valve.

my friend has a vx and its 8 valves......not sure what engine code that is but as far as i know only the DX/CX/SI in hatchback form were 16 valves until 96 and up when they all became 1.6

There was a dual (or 3-stage) VTEC 1.5L available also; one of the best SOHC motors Honda ever made
Yep! That was my implication.
