Default to those who have stripped their interior......

my car came with BROWN interior and recently i took out the door panels and everything in the back. the only thing intact is the dash, center console, headliner and the A pillar. the interior will be all black no two tone just black! crx dash/center console also!!

when i took out the door panels the clear plastic that covers the inside of the doors are torn up and taped by the previous owner and whenever i turn up the stereo i could hear little rattling caused by the frozen plastic. this is really annoying the F$&%!! out of me and would like to get rid of it. but before i do, i wanna know if there is a purpose for that plastic to be there and if it will do any harm taking it all off ????????????

I would bet it keeps water from ******* up your door panels.

i'd say it's for water protection and sound quality (keeps out exterior sound and helps deaden any rattling in your doors while your speakers are bumpin)

i'd get a roll of dynamat, cut, and stick..if you get enough water in there that it gets through the dynamat, you're screwed anyway....

they're called vapor barriers. i ripped mine out, but i also live in a desert so i don't see a whole lot of moisture here. if you want to ditch those things do what i did. spray automotive under-coating on the back of your doorpanels to make a barrier so that the moisture will not get through.
