like the topic says. it's a friends car and he can't get it to go past 3k.
the motors is a b16a on a 93 hatch. he has checked everything plenty times and has come up with nothing.
for ecu he has the b16's and he also has a b18's which he has put on and the motor still starts...but same problem.
anybody has any idea what could it be?
he's going crazy over this sh@#!
looking for solutions before he does an insurance job...

 

Sounds like it is in limp mode due to an engine code or perhaps he has an auto ECU in it.

 

look at this ecu. it should blink 14 times. that means u have a bad idle air control valve. that is locatd at the back of the intake mani. replace that.

 

my b16 did that, your timing might be off.

 

i can bet u he has a crankangle sensor code
code 4
and with that code the engine wont past reviong over 3-3.5 k rpms.. u gotta fix that first///
the first step it sot check the CKP sensor cables arent inverted

 

When did it start screwin up? May have jumped the timing belt a couple of notches.

 

i tried getting a hold of my friend but his cell's not working, i printed the info so when i see him i'll give it to him.

that happened to me once for no reason, I just resetted the ecu. probably not your solution, but it worked for me.

 

The Ecu is in limp in mode.
Check then ecu for codes......
Repair codes...
or post what codes are displayed so we can help

What ecu PR3 or PW0 ?

mine did that out of the blue one day.

It went back to normal 5 minutes later after i cranked it up. It had a constant light, it didnt blink at all.

 

I would highly suggest finding the problem first before randomly buying parts and replacing it.

Unless you have a friend that will lend you some tester parts
