I need help diagnosing a problem with my zc...
Whenever I start my car it will idle for a second and then die... like its running off of the starter and then quiting... and when my key is turned all the way forward my clock and dash lights won't turn on...
I've checked all of the fuses and my distributor, and none of those seem to be the problem... Any help would be gladly appriciated!

When you hold the key all they way forward your clock is off right? THis is normal if you hold the key. Your problem may be a bad fuel filter, fouled out plugs, no gas, you gonna have to trouble shoot some of thses things.

 

does the car start with no problems?
check the fuel line/filter/pump...

Will the car stay running if you hold the ignition switch in the "start" position? If so your switch is shot, happend to my friend.

 

Check your ground wires. If they are in great shape then try adding another ground wire from the frame to the engine (valve cover). Good Luck

 

YES!!! That is excactly it!!!... now how do I go about fixing it?

 

Replace the ignition switch. Get a helms manual and the part. It isnt too bad.
