I had some pretty good oil leaking going on and thought maybe it was my head gasket, but just decided to replace the cam plug seal and the valvecover gasket and problem solved. With no need to replace head gasket
.

I had the same problem. It kinda freaks you out getting a swap and seeing a trail of oil leaking. Good job
P.S. only people on 56ghey bitch about compressing images

Nice and clean hatch. Most vtec motors usually are messy below the vtec solenoid area. I changed my cam seal and vtec solenoid gasket on my B16a. Mines doesn't leak also.

Its a little late
cause about two days ago I was pulled over and given two tickets one for registration and insp.
My car was sitting in my garage for about two months because I was waiting till I had enough money for my swap and during that time
both of my stickers went out.
but I will be able to get them dismissed if I get both of them by the 14th.

i have the same problem now, years after i did my swap,
HOW MUCH oil was there leaing down?
seems like enough/alot to coat the stamp all the way down,
and it seems dry where the cam seal is, espicially at the valve cover gasket.
please say anything that will make me feel like i wont have to change the
head gasket.

I got my swap about a month ago and noticed a oil leak
I was almost sure it was coming from the head gasket cause thats were there was a oil build up( right above the stamp).
It didnt look like it was coming from the cam plug seal or the valve cover gasket.
When I would drive for a while especially aggresivelly, I would notice oil all over the stamp and with in that area, I would wipe if off, drive again and it would be there again.
I thought that only this much oil leak would have to be from the head gasket, but I was wrong.
I finally went out and bought the cam plug seal(about $5) and the valve cover gasket(about $10) from Acura
I followed this Internet post on how to change the cam seal( cause it was my first time doing it).
I changed both out, wiped up the oil all over the stamp area and have been driving since with NO oil anywhere in site!!!
Like I said earlier, I thought almost for sure it was my head gasket, but I was wrong.
Remember that B- series motors are NOTORIOUS for having oil leaks coming from the cam seals over time.
So I'd replace the cam seal and the valve cover gasket and hope fully that should take care of your problem,
BUT there could be a possibility that it could be the head gasket, so dont get your hopes up to high.
Hope this helps you out some...
your details have brought me insperation.
whats 20$ for peice of mind? ill try that
first and see what happens.

i had to opposite problem. i had an oil leak and i thought it was the cam seal. replaced it, no change. ended up being the head gasket and a broken exhaust manifold stud. oilly, sooty mess under the hood every 500 miles

Since it was my first time it took about 30 min. Saves alot of money to do it your self.
Just make sure you use a torque wrench.
