Default Dilemma... i need your help.

i have a '92 Civic Si which needs a new motor. i have mind set on a JDM or USDM B18C or C1.

could you please tell me exactly everything i'll need to do a perfect swap. meaning... the car will be 100% drivable.

i've been looking around and the best price i've found is hmotorsonline with $3,199 for a complete change over. i'm gonna add another $300 for the LSD and then $250 for shipping.

the shop that's gonna do the swap said it will cost $1000 for labor.

this all adds up to $4750.

all i have to spend is $5000 (i'm taking out a loan).

are there any other parts that i'll need to do the swap. for example, shift linkage since this is going into a '92 civic and not a '94+ integra. and motor mounts? will the integra ones work? this shop telling me to get HASport mounts which cost around $450, this puts me over the $5000 limit.

thanks in advance.

If I were you I'd get some friends who have experience with motor swaps to help you out instead of paying $1000 for a shop to do it. Plus you get a learning experience from swapping yourself.

here's another problem... i'm in college right now and need my car. i would love to do the swap myself... that's how i planned to do it. but i can't take the time off from school to mess with swapping an engine.

i found a place today that can do it for $650, so i can save $350. do you think i can get the rest of parts i need for around $300. i understand prices vary, but do you think you could give some idea?

i hate being rushed into this. if i can't come up with the prices soon, i'm gonna end up with another Z6.

thanks again, you guys have been a lot of help.
