Default Car wont start??!!

OK well I have been having problems with my CRX lately that I couldnt figure out. I have had a bad idle and basically like a miss for awhile and I have changed all of the things like plugs, wires, cap, rotor, fuel filter,O2 sensor, pcv, and air filter. Well last night I was driving on the freeway and I was donig about 80mph when most of the traffic sped up to around 85 so I also "tried" to go up to 85mph (I have been having probelms with power issues as well) Well as soon as I started speeding up from 80 my car started missing like crazy and lost all kinds of power and I had to slow down to about 60 and then since traffic was going so fast I decided to pull over and see what was up well as soon as I slowed down almost to a stop my idle was way low and barely kept my car running well I put it into nuetral (Oh yeah its a damn auto) and started revving it a little then I jst started driving along the shoulder for awhile got back on was able to spped up to about 75 and it was sort of fine well as soonas I got off of the freeway again I started having problems with my idle real bad got it to where I was going and then shut her off well went back quite a few hours later it started ran like **** again but I went to my GF's house for awhile and once again goit in started it up and went home well the next morning I went out and all it did was turn over and didnt want to start it was turning over real good but when I started hearing popping I started worrying well took off the DPFI cover over the throttle body tried starting it and it started backfiring through the throttlebody but yet still not starting I hear the fuel pump turn on but I am not sure if I have spark or not but I believe so if its backfiring through the intake like it is. Anyone have any ideas what it could possibly be?? Last night when it started acting up I thought my fuel pump since thats how my other car acted just before it died but like i said I can hear it turning on. Any help would be great!!!

Is the check engine light on? Sounds almost like a problem I had except I wasn't able to rev past 4000rpm due to a faulty dist., it was a Code 4 Crank angle sensor. And everytime I would speed up it would backfire and it would actually pop off the spark plug wire. Thank god for warranty. Also taught me to never ever to go back to a mechanic cause he charged me like $500 for parts and labor(Could got a Si head swap and some bolt ons if I knew it was the dam dist. stupid mechanic said he put a new on but it did the same crap so I went back and made shure he got a new dist.

OK no im not getting any codes, As for my fuel pump unless its priming itself up and not actually pushing fuel I really dont think that its the fuel pump. As for the fuel filter I changed it and my acted the same way after I changed it so I doubt that would be the problem either.

I was thinking either the coil or ignitor? OK you know how when you start your car your tach will usually kind of jump up when starting it? Well mine doesnt move at all does the coil or the ignitor control the tach directly or does something else?
Thanks for all your help so far!!

It its backfiring and missing.....

I would take a second look at the cap, rotor, wires, plugs.
Just because they are new doesn't mean anything these days.
I have install LOTS of new parts that where defective right out of the BOX!!!
How frustrating is that

Back firing normally comes from lack of fuel or spark going into the wrong hole.

so pull your Dual point cover off and move the top valve aside. And see how much gas is getting injected when you crank it. You can always spray some extra air intake clearner if you think its not enough.

good luck

Well its getting plenty of fuel. And also I dont think that the wires,cap,etc... are bad cause I was having this problem before and after I changed them so unless I had bad ones and then bought bad ones (not likely) Im sure those are fine. I am swapping out my ignitor in a little while and see if that works I already swapped my coild and there is no change still doesnt start.

take your cap off your dist and make sure the screw on the rotor is in the hole and tight, a loose wobbling rotor will cause it to miss and backfire due to not getting proper spark againsr the cap

Yeah that was one of the first things that I tried and it was nice and tight.

Well a question with that then OK I know that you cant use a DX dizzy in an Si but can you use the Si dizzy in a DX?? I know that the connectors are different and all but what if I cut and spliced in the old connectors?? I have a few Si dist but not an extra DX one and I dont want to go and buy one since I am planning on swapping out my DX motor for the Si one soon but I need the car now until I pick up another one while my CRX is down for the swap.....
Oh and also is there anyway of testing a dist??

there is no use replacing coil ignitor if you have spark...
Did you even test for spark ?

Well even though I know it was really stupid just to change them even though I didnt test for spark but I have tried everything on what the problems could be and people have said before either the coil or the ignitor and since I had extra ones I tried those just to try to eliminate something else on what the problem could be. See I didnt have someone to help me out with checking for spark but it is something that I am going to be doing once I have an extra person. So if anyone else has some ideas that would be great...I will be updating whether I have spark or not soon......

OK what all grounds are there?? I know of the one that goes from the battery to the chassis and to the trans and I know about the ones on the valve cover to the chassis and I also know about the one that goes from the harness to the thermostat housing and some others for the lights and such but are there any other ones?? If not then I checked them all.

Well it was a used one but it was off of a running motor. Well the whole head was taken off and then I took off the coil from that one.

Check to see if you are getting spark to the plug wires. If you are getting spark going to the wires then go inside the car turn the key(don't crank it) and if you don't hear a click then its your main relay located under you dash on the drivers left hand side. Heres a website of how to fix it http://techauto.tripod.com/mainrelay.htm

Well I have someone on there way over to help me check for spark. I really doubt its my main relay cause I am almost positive that I can hear my fuel pump turn on and well plus I smell the gas in the intake.
will it not stay started
I cant get it running at all all it does is turn over.....

Yeah I know how to check for spark I just need the person over to crank it over while im checking it....Well I could do it the way most people do it where you pull out the plug and hold it up to a ground but I have a spark tester that goes inbetween the spark plug wire and the spark plug boot just have to have someone crank it over for me
