Hey, i was just wondering if the popularity about a del sols weight is really that much of an advantage over domestics and even other imports, does anybody have comparisons in weight to other cars such as civics? thanks.

 

No. Convertibles are usually about the same as their counterparts simply because companies reinforce the frame of the car in case it's rolled.

 

actually a del sol is heavier than most civics, i think its only lighter then the 4 door ex.

If 150-200lbs more is about the same, then yes, a DelSol weighs the same as a 92-95 hatch.

Only exception is a 94-95 Si Hatch. They are pigs and probably heavier than a delsol. Heavier with logic above = the same in reality.

That's only the Si hatchback which is pretty heavy compared to the other hatchbacks.

Del Sol Si: 2396 lb, Civic Si hatchback: 2326lbs
Del Sol S: 2277 lb, Civic dx hatchback: 2178 lb
Civic vx & cx hatchback: 2094 lb
