Is bigger better ?
Im talking about Intakes. I used to have a 3" ractive intake, when I installed it the car seemed to bog down real bad in the low RPM's. I just swithed to a 2.5" Intake and the car seems to get up and go.. its alot more peppy.. Why is this, I would have thought that the more air the better.
It is the pressure at which the motor takes in the air. Imagine a water going thru a big *** hose. Now imagine the same amount of water going thru a little straw......more pressure. Something like that. Air is not really pressurized though.
Depends on which hole you're going to stick it in.
In the end you're limited by your intake manifold so keep that in mind. If you got a larger than normal one at least you would know your car is breathing the best that it can.

You would gain substantially at top end and even more with a bored throtle body and intake manifold, but you need to consider what you have on your and if it has enough power to take in all that air otherwise you do create a big lag on bottom end and it becomes annoying on street driving. Without work on your engine, you're better off with 2.5.
