do STOCK cams ever wear out?
assuming proper oil change intervals, if i'm buying a set of used cams, do i need to worry about any type of wear factor? if theres a 100,000 miles on them, will they go for another 100,000 typically?

With regular oil changes and valve adjustments and assuming you have the stock valve springs I have never heard of them wearing out. Look at the lobes. If there are any scratches or odd wear patterns dont get them.

From taking apart high mileage heads, I'd say most likely the rocker & cam holder surfaces wear out faster than the cam lobes. There are differences in hardness between the parts. The stock billet steel cams are certainly the hardest!
