PM6 ECU on CRX HF motor?
I got an extra PM6 ECU from a friend, I was told that if I put this ECU on the stock HF motor, it will add some power
My question is, will there be any side effects or any problems from using the PM6 on the stock motor?
Any help would be great
Thanks

hmm I see no one is answering, here are some things to consider...
They are both MPFI engines.
The HF ECU would have fuel maps set up to run lean for better MPG (HF = High Fuel)
The SI maps would be more agressive and rich.
Either way I dont think you are going to see much out of the HF
I have never tried this swap, but the above facts are true so theoreticlly it seems like it would work.

it may add a little power but i wouldn't be revving as high as the rev limiter because you may blow the hf motor, i don't think it can take much of a rev over 5-5500 rpms. You may feel a little difference but it will definately run rich, my friend did this last year, he said he felt a difference in power but i didn't and we both noticed it was pretty rich for that motor. HIH
i tried that for fun on my d15b6. the motor cant rev higher than 6000 because the stock intake man./ head blah blah is too restrictive. maybe if you plan to turbo the hf motor the si ecu would run good, but dont take my word for it. just drop in a d16a6 already. haha. peace

well i just put the pm6 in, the car has a noticible increase in power
, well not that much, just a little
, but every little bit helps in an HF
, but the car does run very very rich, when cold the car bogs down then revs, the HF shift light is also gone, the only problem i ran into was that, i got a CEL, while driving, any ideas? the light came on when i shifted early from 1st to 2nd (keep in mind it is an HF tranny)

Well tell us what CEL it is giving you and maybe we can help out, you installed the ECU so you obviously know where it is. With the car off, turn the key to on and count the number of times the light on in the center of the PM6 flashes.
EDIT: The HF had a shift light on in the console?

No scott...the shift light is in the guage cluster...it flashs at the
optimal shift points to get the highest fuel milage ( remember its
a gas sipper)

I did the same. I put a SI ecu in the hf. Very rich, But I also put in b16a 240cc injectors and fp regulator and lowered the pressure down to 20 at idle. Little help. But the SI ecu can be chipped. I have a turbo to go on the hf. Just want some safe passing power. HF manifold mounted to a kkk Audi turbo, tial 35 mm wastegate, mazda mx 6 turbo intercooler mounted under the hood where the battery used to be. The battery is in the trunk. I cut a hole in the hood to cool the intercooler. Looks pretty funky. Best thing about the HF is that it makes more torque than horsepower so boosting it will give it a nice pull. The best thing is that I will be shifting all before 4500 rpm. Should be pretty quick for a sleeper. I think I will have more fun with this than my race car. Hf tranny is great, I have a wide band 02 sensor to get the mixure just right so every thing will be just fine, worry free.
The light you will get will be 02 sensor, that's what happened to me. Even if you replace it it will still come on. Must be a big difference in the fuel maps between SI and HF ecu. Again, the SI ecu can be modified. I also tried to lower the fuel pressure to 20 psi at idle. Still to much gas.
After I swapped my Si out I gave my PM6 to a buddie of mine who had an HF. He ran that ECU for almost a year, beating the snot out of the HF the best he could and never had a problem with it.
