Default heating

I need some help when my civic is at an idle the tempreture gauge works and it blows out hot air but as soon as I start to drive the gauge goes back down to cold and it blows out cold air, anyone have any idea as to what could be wrong

I was thinking that maybe it has something to so with the termostat

sounds like your thermostat may be stuck open. Jsut sitting at a light idling, there is no air flow through the radiator and so the car warms up, and once you start moving the airflow cools off the radiator and the defective thermostat can't clsoe to keep the engine warm.

Cliff Notes:
Change the Thermostat and all shall be good!

its weird, but trust me on this one, you want to use a oem honda thermostat. honda engines just don't work right with an aftermarket one.
