speedometer cable coming loose
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to keep the speedometer cable that plugs in to the tranny hole secure?
I used electrical tape and it worked for a while, but its loose again.

There is a clip that holds the cable in. It fits in a slot in the cable housing on the trans and locks the cable in place. You can get one at your local dealership. Just a word of warning...the clip can be a real pita to put on.
I lost my clip and had to make do. First time I put it back in place the speedometer didn't even move while I drove. I then went back, pulled the line out of its socket and then jammed it back in until it clicked. Its been working ever since.

By any chance, do you know what the exact name for the clip?

I just got back from Honda and the parts counter person couldn't find it. Does anyone know the part number or anything that can make things more clearer?
the end of the speedo cable has a groove around it about a half inch away from the tip. you slide the end into the barrel thats sticking up at the back of the tranny. there is a slice cut into the barrel where you put the clip in and locks the speedo as well. the trick is that the speedo cable should not be completely pushed in for the correct fit, its about just 1/16th" back from as far as you can push it, and then it will click and be secured.
