I dont know if the 550 is for manuals or not. Which one is better, more $$? I really dont want to dish out $300 for the 790xv responder. Just want a decent alarm.

 

The 500 is not for manuals. I don't know about the 800. check out directed.com

 

The website doesnt say oddly enough. The only alarm from DEI that is good for manuals/auto is the Clifford Solaris.

 

Go with the Viper500 esp. The Viper800esp cost more because it has more channels and a few other stuff that is useless.

The Viper500 esp is a very good alarm.

 

the 500esp is for any car. the 550esp is the remote start unit, and can be put into any car. manuals just require a few mods. personaly i like the 800esp. you can get the addon remote start unit later if you want it. the 800esp has a bunch more channels and loads of features.

for the average user though, the 500esp is perfect.

you can add on the remote start to the viper500esp also. You can add on anything to both but the viper800 just has more channels(which a majority of us will never use up) for expandablity plus a few extra usless gimmicks.
