my motor revs 1k rpm higher than normal whenever I give it more gas, than settles back down again.
My motor isnt revving normal. It revs 1,000 rpm higher than normally. For example if the car was at 3,000rpm and I give it a little gas to accelerate 10mph more, the tach jumps to 4,000rpm and then settle back down to ~3,400 rpm. The rpm doesnt go up smoothly and stay at whatever speed I am going....it jumps higher than settles back down. Is it because of the damn fricking cold weather?
hmmm, maybe your clutch is slipping, or something wrong with a sensor or vacuum hose? i am not for sure, maybe some more knowledgable members will come along and enlighten us, i'm curious to know whats up w/ your car.
Do you have a manual? If so, could be the clutch like EvilIngtgration said...
yah, my GSR is a manual. It's more an annoyance than anything. Of course, it scares the shiet out of me when I see the rpm shoot up like that. Heheh.
