i have a Fidanza flywheel ready to install.. should I upgrade the clutch as well?
probably gonna pay to have the flywheel installed. should i replace the stock clutch with an upgraded clutch as well? my stock clutch still works quite well, and i don't abuse it often, but there is that idea that "since i'm replacing the flywheel, might as well replace the clutch while it's out"..kill two birds with one stone, etc. would a new clutch compliment the flywheel, or will the flywheel work just as well by itself with the stock clutch? thanks in advance guys.
also, i have a 98 ls with i/h/e and upgraded suspension/tires if that helps

i had a similar situation
i needed to replace the clutch so I decided to get an exedy flywheel at the same time
I'm very happy with the results
if money is an issue, buy the clutch and do the work yourself, if should cost the same or maybe lil cheaper

probably, if its all accessible. I view it like changing the springs while your having your shocks/struts changed.
If youre paying to have it done...definitely. It saves you $300-$400 for install charges later on down the road.
Since they will have to drop the tranny for both jobs, might as well. Definately will save you a few bills down the road on labor. Why not put an upgraded clutch in while your at it.
yes, i am running into the same situation, and i decided on just waiting till i get my ACT Streetlite flywheel in, and i'm putting it with my ACT HDSS clutch at the same time. They said they will just bolt up with flywheel with no charge, since they will have it pulled anyways, and just bolt up the new flywheel instead of resurfacing my old one. i'm just not looking forward into breaking it in and becoming accustomed to a lighter wheel.
thanks for the replies guys
looks like the views are very much one-sided. seeing as how the cash flow is tight, looks like the flywheel might have to wait until i can afford a new clutch
