a DX distributor wont work in a Si will it?
normally i would think this is a stupid question but i was lookin at a DX dizzy today and it has all the wiring that the Si has (7 wire plug and the DX's have 5 right??)....
if theyre from the same year, i'd have to say someone modified it, but i dont really know, you are correct that the si has the 7pin round connector, and the dx has the 5pin square/rectangle connector
oh and i know it was in a 88 DX hatch, i pulled it out...
anyway to tell by lookin at it? anyone got picks compairing? what should i look for?

You can not use the DX distr in the Si. The Si has a cylinder position sensor in it for the mpfi so it knows when to fire the injectors.
i forget exactly how many wires are on the DX distributor, but it has the rectangle plug, the ZC and DX have the same connectors, only the Si and HF have the round connectors..

And the reason that the ZC and the DX's are the same is because the ZC's cylinder position sensor is by the cam on the ZC. As for what it looks like Im not sure?? I dont think you could just take it out of the Si and put it into the DX and make it work if I were you I would just get and Si and not mess with the DX one.
TurboHF I might have one, what year does it need to be, would there be a date stamp on it to see if its the one you need?? I will double check for you. Let me know.
