B18c in CRX or B16
I have a choice to make. At the present time I am the owner of a 92 Civic Si and a 90 CRX HF that is in pieces in my shop. I purchased a B18c swap for my Civic and had big plans. Those plans have changed. I am now shifting directions and saving my money towards my new S2000 next year. So here is my situation. I will be selling my Civic for money towards the S2000, but I am trying to decide if I should keep the B18c and put it in the CRX for a nice little sleeper or sell it and buy a B16. The CRX will be my winter beater and maybe taken to the drags every now and then in the summer. So if you were in my shoes what would you do. Sorry for the long story.
thanks
thanks
I would do what ever is cheaper, so you can buy your s2000.
the gsr swap might end up costing a bit more. you have to get a cable tranny, obd0 dist, pr3 ecu and chip it for a gsr,and a few other small things.
or you could sell the gsr swap for around 3000, and get a b16a swap for less than 2000. figure 1200 for the swap and 500 for hasport, or place racing mounts.
id put the gsr in if i had all those parts to make it work, if not id go b16

Well I have a b18c in my hf so that's where my vote goes
.
However in the end if I was in your situation I would go the cheapest route to save money for the s2000. Why not sell the b18c get a fresher d-series throw on a junk yard turbo and call it a day? You'll save plenty of money that way.

what he said, id just sell the motors and throw in a zc. . .
you have a slight edge over stock and itll be a fresh motor so you can keep miles down on the s2. . .
then turbo or bottle the **** out of it
derek

IMO i would keep the b18c...your buying an s2k...1 grand will make a difference but not tooo much of a difference...owell do what you want thats just my opinion
I have a ZC in my HF and it's plenty fun for a second car. (I have a 99si) If you use the ZC tranny and have an si final drive it will make a great beat around town ride. I am still planning on turboing the ZC though.
