Default gettin 91 crx -- swap question

Im gettin a CRX in a couple days -- don't know if its HF or DX

I am probably going to swap for a ZC engine, since they are cheap, and don't take alot to swap.

Is it possible to swap either HF or DX? Which is harder? What will i need?

Does the ZC take DX engine parts? (like CAI/Headers)

You can email me at---

If its a DX you need to MPFI conversion. If HF you may need to change the Diz plug to the ZC 5pin plug and extend wires to Cylinder position sensor never swaped a ZC b4 except with a DX. The CAI will work. You can use your exhaust but you may want to port match it because it will block some of the flow.

also stay away from the hf tranny. I wouldn't use a dx either but it works ok. I'd go zc tranny also, but you gotta change shafts then. But if your shafts are bad and are gonna change them anyway it's no big deal

From what i know, the DX is a bitch to install a ZC.

The Si and HF work pretty good but obviously the Si is the best choice. Since you have a DX, i might just consider spending more and getting the awesome B16 bro. If i could've done it all over again, i would've just spent the extra freaken money and gotten a sweet *** B16 under the hood of my CRX.

Only if he doesn't keep the HF tranny right? If he uses the zc motor with the hf tranny he doesnt have to change the hubs...but not a wise decision to keep the zc transmision

If he keeps the hf tranny he wouldn't have to change axles but the HF tranny is a POS and doesn't belong on a performance car. If he runs a SI,DX,or zc not only will he need new axles but he'll have to change the hubs. If he runs the ZC tranny he'll need 90-93 teg shafts and the ZC intermediate shaft. The ZC/SI hybrid tranny is about the best you can do for acceleration.

Which ZC are you getting?

SOHC or DOHC?

VTEC or non-VTEC?

1.5 or 1.6?

Which OBD is it....pre, 0, or 1?

Use this link to find out which ZC you're thinking about getting. Just scroll to the bottom of the page. This whole site has a ton of great information about ZC swaps and links.
