Can anybody decifer a VIN for me?

or tell me where I can find out what it all means?

J = Japan
H = Honda
M = Passenger car built in Japan
ED8 = 1500 CRX
4 = 2 door hatchback - automatic
5 = DX (CRX)
3 = Check digit
M = 1991
S = built in Suzuka,Japan
017768 = Production Sequence

Thanks. So there is nothing in the VIN to tell whether it's a dx, si, etc..?

ironically enough, however, i have an '88 civic hatch 4-speed (the standard, NOT the DX) and the 8th digit in my VIN is "4", which according to that chart means LXI/SI.

that's not right, i definitely have a 70HP engine and a 4-speed gearbox. a far cry from the SI
